I’ve been wanting to make fruit roll-ups for such a long time. I’ve been putting it off because I thought it would be a big deal, but they are so easy. I’m going to do them every week from now on. The kids devoured them.

I used 4 freezer bags of organic mixed fruit to make 3 large roll-ups. So, they each ate a little over a bag of fruit in about 30 seconds. It’s a great way to get kids to consume organic fruit on the off-season.

Ingredients:

4 10 oz. Bags Frozen Fruit of your choice.

1/2 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce

1 tsp Lemon Juice

1 Tbsp Sweetener of your choice. Xylitol, Maple Syrup, Agave and Honey are all good options.

Directions:

Place all berries, applesauce, and lemon juice in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the fruit is soft, about 10 minutes.

Then stir in the sweetener and transfer mixture to a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.

Line the dehydrator trays with parchment paper, and evenly spread the mixture on the paper. You will probably need 3 trays total. You want to spread the mixture thin enough to resemble a traditional fruit roll-up. If it’s too thick it will take forever to dehydrate.

Set the dehydrator at 115 and leave them in there for about 4 hours. You can try doing them in your oven at the lowest setting if you don’t have a dehydrator, but ovens are inconsistent so I can’t guarantee they will turn out correctly.
